🚀 Case Study: WordPress Membership and Listing Integration System — A Custom Solution
🔍 Client Challenge
Our client’s e-commerce website was running two separate plugins — Paid Memberships Pro for membership management and Listo Plugin for listing management. However, there was no integration between these two systems. As a result:
- Members could not access listings for free despite having an active membership.
- Non-members had to pay separately for each listing.
- No control system existed for listing access based on membership levels (Basic, Premium, VIP).
- No automated feature to revoke listing access when membership expires, causing inconvenience for users and admins.
🛠️ My Solution: A Fully Custom Integrated System
I developed a comprehensive custom integration by leveraging Meta Box and connecting the hooks and filters of both plugins. This integration:
- Established a direct link between membership plans and listing access.
- Allowed members to access listings according to their membership level.
- Displayed pricing to non-members while providing free listings to members based on their plan.
- Automatically set listing prices to zero for members and dynamically update access on membership upgrades/downgrades.
- Revoked listing access automatically upon membership expiration and restored it upon renewal.
